| We'd like to take a few moments to introduce you to the staff of
the Bay Zinc Company:
Dick Camp: Owner, Bay Zinc Company
rjcamp@bayzinc.com
My name is Dick Camp. I was born just south of Seattle a long time ago.
I literally grew up in the micronutrient business, working with my parents
as they started to make zinc sulfate for tree fruits in 1954. I worked
in the plants in both Tacoma and Yakima throughout high school and college.
I attended Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and graduated with
a degree in Economics in 1969. After graduation and my tour with the U.S.
Army I moved to Yakima and went to work full time for my father in the
zinc sulfate business. I have been active in the fertilizer industry and
I have served as an officer, board member and Soil Improvement Committee
chairman for The Pacific Northwest Plant Food Association. I have also
served on the board of The Fertilizer Institute and I am currently second
vice-president of the Far West Agribusiness Association.
I currently live in Yakima, Washington with my wife
and fellow Whitman Alum, Jessica. We have two grown children. My hobbies
include a love of cooking, collecting wine, and working on sports cars.
Greg Mitch:
Production Manager
gomitch@bayzinc.com
I am the Plant Manager for The Bay Zinc Company. As Plant Manager, I am
responsible for all plant operations including production, maintenance,
engineering, regulatory affairs, and quality improvements. I joined Bay
Zinc in 1993 and have particularly enjoyed building the new production
facility, starting it up, and improving its processes.
Since graduating with a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University
of California at Davis in 1977, I have served in Engineering and Production
management positions with FMC Corporation and Borden Chemical in a variety
of chemical processing plants. During those 16 years I earned an MBA with
majors in both Finance and in Decision Science from the University of
Oregon in 1989.
I am married with five children – all girls! The two oldest are
in college and a third will join them next year. We enjoy camping, fishing,
hiking, racket sports, and (me especially) golf.
Jennifer Clemenson: Sales Assistant
jennifer@bayzinc.com
My name is Jennifer Clemenson. I started working for the Bay Zinc Company shortly after high school as a receptionist. Over the 11 years of employment with The Bay Zinc Company, I have worked as a receptionist, as a bookkeeping assistant and currently as a Sales Assistant. I enjoy working in the agricultural industry and working closely with our customers and the trucking companies. I'm married and a mother of two wonderful boys. My husband is an Instrumentation Tech/Electrician at Del Monte Foods. I grew up in the Yakima Valley as did my parents and grandparents. I enjoy camping, going to the beach and spending time with family & friends, and watching baseball and basketball.
Jessica
Camp: Office Manager
jesscamp@bayzinc.com
My name is Jessica Camp. I was born and raised in Washington, have a degree
in zoology and minored in music. I'm married to Dick, owner of Bay Zinc;
have a son working in computer consulting in Boston, and a daughter living
in Seattle. She is teaching high school math and is married to a computer
researcher.
I started working at Bay Zinc in the lab in 1988. When
the warehouse containing the lab collapsed in the big snow a few years
ago, I started working more and more with regulations, and then moved
gradually into other office activities. I still work in the lab now and
then. I just go where I am needed. Besides working
at Bay Zinc, I teach violin and do some performing. My husband and I enjoy
cooking, traveling, and the performing arts. I like tennis and skiing,
reading and gardening. I'm active with the Yakima United Way Allocations
Committee, our school district's Stewardship Committee, and various activities
at our church. |
