Zinc is an essential element in plant nutrition. Crops grown in Zinc deficient soils cannot produce their full potential for top yields or quality.

Only a small amount of Zinc is required to obtain good quality and high yielding crops. Corn, beans, citrus, deciduous fruit trees, flax, grapes, hops, onions, pecans, pine and soybeans are very sensitive to inadequate Zinc nutrition. Mildly sensitive crops are alfalfa, clovers, cotton, potatoes, sorghum, sugar beets and tomatoes. Crops remove Zinc from the soil and it must be applied regularly for top yields and quality. Liming acid soils will reduce Zn++ uptake, and high phosphorus availability can induce Zinc deficiency.
